Body Shop Vitamin C Glow Revealing Liquid Peel – Review

I’d seen a lot of hype on Twitter and Instagram over the Body Shop’s liquid peel range. I decided to give one a go to see how it fairs on my gross, old face!

The liquid peel range comes in 3 types:

  • Drops of Youth, Youth Liquid Peel
  • Vitamin C Glow Revealing Liquid Peel
  • Drops of Light Pure Resurfacing Liquid Peel

I went for the Vitamin C Glow Revealing Liquid Peel, which you can purchase online on the Body Shop website for £18.00 for 145ml.

The website says:

The Vitamin C Glow Revealing Liquid Peel specifically targets pollutants that are left sitting on the skin at the end of the day. Transforming gel-to-peel technology traps and gently peels off impurities and dead skin cells to unveil healthy-looking skin

  • This transforming gel-to-peel texture peels away dull, tired skin for a happy healthy glow
  • The PH of the gel helps to release surface cells
  • Contains our most potent Camu Camu Berry

According to the bottle, it is for dull, tired and grumpy skin – it’s like the Body Shop knows me – It’s my personality in a bright orange container!

Basically, as you rub the gel into your skin, the gel traps the dirt and yukky dead skin into this weird peel that you wipe off to reveal a new, beautiful you (or something more sciencey)! You can see how it looks when it changes on the back of my hand.

Here’s my ‘before’ face. I’m a bit unwell at the moment so I look naturally quite grey and blotchy – good job I’ve not been leaving the house!

I started by cleaning and drying my face, I then used 1-2 ish pumps of the liquid peel, you then massage it into your skin (don’t massage it into your eyes!) for around 20 – 30 seconds until clumps become visible and you can peel them away from your face. It might be a good idea to do this over your sink, then you can brush the clumpy bits away easily without worrying about the mess! You can then rinse your face well until all the bits have gone.

It is really easy to use, some reviews I’ve read report the product as being sticky and hard to get the bits off your face – I didn’t find this at all, it is really soothing on your skin and really, really satisfying to see how much grossness comes off your face!

This lovely little product makes my skin feel softer and so clean! It really evens out my skin tone as well. I’ve been using it 1 – 2 times a week and I am already noticing an improvement in my skin. I’m hoping to try the Drops of Youth one to recapture my youthful skin (without the teenage skin obviously)!

I am dying to try this on my husband to see if his skin is grosser than mine! This really is a lovely little product from Body Shop which has genuinely left my face feeling fresher, lighter and brighter.

This reminds me of a Korean beauty item I own which does exactly the same thing as this! There are a couple of Korean beauty brands that have these kind of products out but I love that The Body Shop has their own!

This is definitely something I’m going to test out when I’m next in store, I’d love to pick up the drops of youth version.

    Great review m’dear. ^_^
