Lush – Rosy Cheeks Face Mask

A few weeks ago I picked up a Lush face mask. I’ve heard lots of good things about them but never actually tried one.

My local Lush shop is in Plymouth, I love it in there. The guys who work there are so friendly and approachable, it’s hard to be grumpy in that shop thats for certain. When I picked up my face mask, one of the lovely girls who works there complimented me on my bag (it’s a cat unicorn bag!!).

The face mask I settled on was Rosy Cheeks. A 75g tub will set you back £6.75. The very nice man behind the counter advised to use it around twice a week. Lush describes it:

Find the happiness you seek by cleansing cheek to cheek with this gorgeously soothing fresh mask. A simple blend of kaolin, calamine and Turkish rose oil to delicately calm the skin and restore balance. Whether you’re feeling hot and bothered or just fancy showering your complexion with roses, cleansing calamine and kaolin will gently remove dirt while exquisite rose oil nourishes and tones your face.

This is a fresh face mask and you have to keep it in the fridge. After making sure my husband knew not to spread it on his toast or anything daft like that, I popped it in the fridge door.

It’s a pretty pink pastel colour and it smells really lovely. I wasn’t sure how I would feel about the smell, but actually its really fresh and springy. The directions for use are really straightforward:

Smooth a generous layer of this mask over your skin and relax for 10-15 minutes, allowing the ingredients to get to work, before rinsing.

So after taking off my make up and making sure my face was all clean and fresh I set about slapping Rosy Cheeks all over my face.

Because it’s been in the fridge, it’s really cool when you put it on your skin, it’s really calming and soothing. Even though its fragranced, it isnt overpowering when it’s all over your skin – I’ve found some face masks have an overwhelming smell that can be a bit much when you’ve popped it on for up to 15 minutes. After the alloted time, I set about rinsing it off.

My verdict? Well, my face feels super soft and pretty fresh considering how tired I am today. It was genuinely soothing and calming and refreshing after a long day at work. I will totally be using this on a regular basis. It did exactly what it said it would, which is all you want really!
