Nails Inc 40 Winks Sheet Mask – Review

I love a face mask. My favourite are those peel off ones. I love seeing all the crap from your face all pulled out of your pores, so I was pretty intrigued when I saw some Nails Inc Sheet Masks in Boots.

Priced at £5.00 you get 1 full face sheet mask. I tried 40 Winks – an anti ageing and firming mask. Nails Inc describes it as:

40 Winks Facial Sheet Mask firms & brightens skin showing the first visible signs of ageing.
Enriched with Collagen & Multivitamins to plump, reduce the visible signs of ageing, brighten and even out the skin tone. Also contains Hyaluronic Acid and Ceramide.
For even, firmed and moisturised skin.

Nails Inc recommends you apply the sheet mask to a clean dry face, so I used some Nip & Fab cleaning and toning wipes, I love these wipes (you can purchase them here) they are great for tightening your pores and leaving your face feeling really fresh.

I tore the packet open and pulled out the mask. It feels very weird and really gross. The face mask is saturated in a lovely moisturiser, it isn’t like dripping wet but it does feel a bit like really wet toilet roll!

I carefully unfolded the mask, I was a bit worried it would rip if I wasn’t gentle but in all honesty I think I could have gotten away with a being a bit rougher!

It was at this point that the uncontrollable laughter started. The “face” on the sheet is hilarious. I felt a bit like I was in a horror movie and I was transplanting someone’s skin onto my face. The mask itself was pretty tricky to get on my face. I don’t know if my face is oddly proportioned but I couldn’t get the mask’s vacant stare to line up with my own. When I eventually got it on and in the right place so I could see what I was doing, I became hysterical. I laughed so much I cried and I had to sit on the bathroom floor to compose myself. Even the cats came to see what was going on.

I eventually composed myself and went to lie back on the bed. As I sat there feeling like Ed Gein, the coolness and dampness of the mask was actually really relaxing. I felt nice and calm and the scent of the mask was really nice too. Whilst the mask was at work, I had a little snack and tried to drink a cup of tea.
I would highly recommend not attempting to drink from a cup with the mask on. It got messy, I got tea on the mask and mask in the tea. Maybe I’ll use a straw next time.

After the recommended 15 minutes, I headed back to the bathroom to peel off the sheet. This was also hilarious and feels super weird when you peel it off. I felt like the guy in Poltergeist who peels his face off.

You can then massage any remaining liquid from the mask gently back into your skin. There’s no need to rinse it off.

My skin felt lovely. It looked pretty bright and it felt fresher and tighter. The coolness of the mask had relaxed me too.

I had great fun with this Nails Inc sheet mask and I can’t wait to try out the others I’ve got. It really did the job it promised leaving my face brighter, tighter and refreshed. As an added bonus, it was also super fun and hilarious to use!
