Claire’s UK Haul

Whilst I was in Blackpool a few weeks ago, we visited the Freeport Outlet Centre to grab some bargains. One place I always have a quick look in is Claire’s UK who have a really good outlet store here.

I always feel so old when I go into Claire’s UK when it first arrived in my local town centre it was the go to place for cute jewellery, glitter and ear piercings. They now sell jewellery, accessories and hair and beauty bits amongst other things. Whilst I can no longer pull off zip shaped neon dangly earrings, you can find some really nice things in there.

The outlet store has a descent discount, up to around 40% off most RRP items from the regular store so you can really find a bargain.

The first thing I grabbed were some scrunchies. I for one am thrilled that scrunchies are back. They are the perfect accessory for getting all that hair off your face and neck in this weather and look really cool in a messy bun.

I picked up 4, two velvet ones in dusky pink and teal. I grabbed a holographic silver one which feels a bit like satin. My favourite is a sparkly, rainbow, sequinned one. I wore it the other day and whenever the sun caught it, hundreds of tiny rainbows were reflected on my surroundings. I felt pretty damn magical!

I’m trying to wear earrings to work more often, so I couldn’t resist picking up a couple of pairs. Sadly there were no spiky neon studs this time.

I love the silver heart shaped hoops. I’m a big fan of hoop earrings even though I’m not convinced I can pull them off! The rose gold dangly earrings are really cute, featuring the word “love” inside. These are ideal for work and are pretty enough to be worn on a night out as well.

The last pair of earrings I picked up were very cool – mermaids!

I was really excited about these mermaid babes. Sadly the first time I tried to wear them, the mermaid snapped off the earring post completely. With no way of fixing them or being able to return them I had to throw them in the bin! Honestly, on having a good look at them, they were actually very badly made. Probably why they were being sold in an outlet store for £2.00!

I picked up a Pusheen keyring and a cat-vomitting-a-rainbow necklace for Amy, my brothers girlfriend.

The last item I picked up was a hair styling tool! When I was younger, we had one of these and it was called a Topsy Tailer. I think it came from Betterware or something and was basically a hoop on a stick! You put a pony tail in your hair, put the tail through the hoop and pulled the whole thing through the bobble to create a cute twisty/braid look in your hair! They seemed to fade out really, but I’ve seen lots of tutorials for hair styles using them. I was pretty excited to see a set in Claire’s!

These ones are heart shaped! The smaller one is to create the style in smaller sections of hair! I’ve already used them a couple of times but I’m hoping to create some really cool styles with them soon!

I had lots of fun looking around at all the cute, fun stuff in Claire’s UK and with the exception of the mermaid earrings, I’m pretty pleased with what I picked up.

I nearly got the sequin scrunching the other day! Omg I am at the outlet tomorrow in Swindon so will look out for a hoop styler, I loved those! Josie had her ears pierced at the Bristol store and was an awful experience, the night of having them done both earrings cape apart and had to be took out but was so traumatic she didn’t have them back in quick enough. We had to go to F Hinds too get them removed. The manager Claire’s didn’t want to know and got attitude with Mum. Other than that is the place for beanie boos too xx

I haven’t shopped at Claire’s for AGES, and everytime I walk past I’m so tempted to, but just never do. Reading your post has given me that push I needed and I’ll be having a nosey around my local store next time I’m in town 🙂 haha! I used to be obsessed with Claire’s Accessories when I was a teenager, especially when they started catering to pop punk/ scene kids 😀 Do you remember those emo-esque gloves they used to sell? I had loads of different pairs of them! Ooo I didn’t know the Blackpool store had a discount to regular stores, so thanks for letting me know!

That rainbow sequin scrunchie is fabulous! I loved the whole spiky neon studs ‘phase’ 🙂 I had spiky neon everything at one point… including a pencil case filled with pens that were pointless because the were too awkward to write with XD Those silver heart hoops are really pretty. Oh no, it sucks that the mermaid earrings broke though! Other than those, even though they were very pretty nonetheless, great haul! I had a bit of a trip down memory lane in my mind whilst reading 🙂 x

I always feel really old when I walk into Claire’s but it used to be my go-to for accessories and some home ware as a teenager. We have an outlet Clarke’s in Swindon which is about a 20 minute drive from me, I’ll have to pop in and have a look. 🙂
