It’s that time of the month again where I like to share what I’ve been dossing around in for the last month. We’ve had some not too bad weather this month so more summery bits and pieces have been out of the wardrobe!
It was still pretty chilly and damp towards the start of the month, but this bright yellow bobble hat from Boohoo made me feel a bit like I was embracing Spring! My starry jumper is an old one from H & M
Easter weekend had roughly 3 hours of nice weather and I did manage to sunburn my nose despite applying lots of suncream. We spent part of Easter weekend in Cornwall and I finally got some wear out of two gorgeous Cath Kidston skirts I’ve had for a while. The cute ice-cream motif tshirt that I wore with the doggy skirt came from Boohoo and is a bit see through, which I didn’t realise until quite late in the day much to my horror. I’d worn the doggy skirt earlier in the month with a plain grey long sleeve tshirt, which made it feel and look much more wintery! The other Cath Kidston features a beach/boat motif that is super summery.
I’m a big fan of pyjamas and picked up an amazing pair in Primark – Primark are brilliant for themed pyjamas! These feature Marie from my favourite Disney film – The Aristocats. The waistband says “I’m Fabulous” all over it, which is pretty accurate.
As always, I’ve rocked a few different nail looks this month, although I have to admit I got pretty lazy towards the end of the month and they have all broken and gotten a bit scruffy now!
It was my Mum’s birthday in April, so we treated her to dinner at Prezzo (check out a previous visit review here). It’s not overly fancy there so I popped on a cold shoulder shirt that I picked up in Primark a few weeks ago. It’s cat print and has a frilled bit over the boob area which I wasn’t sold on – it made my boobs look even huger! Still, it was a comfortable top and with a pair of jeans was a decent casual outfit. I teamed it with a pin from Punky Pins – Cats Rule Everything Around Me.
I had two weeks off in the middle of April, so I spent alot of time lounging around doing very little, which called for a whole host of tshirt and jeans combo’s. The grey Things Will Be Fine tee is from Topshop, it’s a super thin material though and hangs a bit weird so I’m not sure how much I like it! The big black cat tshirt is from H&M, my awesome Gilmore Girls top is from Etsy. The U (for unicorn) top was a gift and originally from New Look. The blue and orange spotty cardigan is from Cath Kidston. Amazing unicorn slippers from Asos and the My Little Pony tshirt is available in Primark right now! It’s one of those where you can brush the sequins over and the mane and tail change colour!
I had cause to look smart and respectable this month, so I dug out this old black dress from Dorothy Perkins, it has a smart, white Peter Pan collar, I teamed it with a simple cream cardigan with embelished sleeves as it’s still a bit chilly some mornings.
I found an awesome unicorn jumper on Asos – it’s soft and fleecy and super cosy, with a unicorn motif and a teeny unicorn on the sleeve. It’s perfect for weekends when you want to lie around and do nothing!
I spent a huge amount of time in my Babycham trainers this month, I’ve had them for more than 10 years and have worn them a handful of times, but with their sparkly heels and pink Babycham deer all over them I think it’s time they were let out of the wardrobe! I’ve also been loving some navy, suede Chelsea boot style shoes I got in New Look – I’ve been a bit disappointed with the wide-fit selection recently as it seems to be less-wide-than-it-used-to-be-fit now, but these are pretty comfortable and great for stomping in.
We had a day out to the National Maritime Museum this month as well to see the British Tattoo Exhibition (look out for a review coming soon). It was a sunny day so I kept it simple with jeans and a tshirt from H&M and a cardigan from Asos.
On the second to last day of April I spent the morning with my dad, we were going into deepest, darkest Cornwall so I made sure I was warm with a chunky blue jumper with a giant cat on it from H&M and my Superdry coat. I even popped a vest on underneath! It was a fierce wind too where we were so I’m glad I did! I added a pin from Mamummylife and my Mermaid Society Badge from Thriftbox.
